About Us
In early 2023, Nate Holloway and Nathan Hulling partnered to found Holloway and Hulling PLLC, Montana Lawyers. Together they brought over 25 years of litigation experience in criminal defense, family law, real estate, and personal injury, along with a broad network in Missoula and its surrounding communities. Both are experienced litigators with high character values and a relentless work ethic, and their shared experience and values made starting a firm together an easy fit.
The firm has since grown to a team of attorneys and staff with more than 50 years of combined legal experience, serving clients from offices in Missoula and Bozeman. Holloway and Hulling represents Montanans in criminal defense, personal injury, and family law matters, with strong advocacy and compassion at the center of every case.

Adrienne Ellington is a Montana native, born and raised in Butte, America. Adrienne’s family moved to Great Falls where she attended high school. She brings deep local roots and a compassionate, solution-oriented approach to her clients across the Gallatin Valley.
Before practicing as an attorney, Adrienne dedicated over 15 years to the legal field. This extensive background in family law, criminal law, and public service gives her a unique, well-rounded perspective on the legal system. Adrienne takes pride in guiding clients through complex, emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
Adrienne earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law after completing undergraduate degrees at Boise State University and the University of Phoenix. Following law school, she launched her legal career as a solo practitioner at the Law Office of Adrienne Ellington. In this role, she primarily handled criminal defense matters ranging from minor traffic violations to serious felony charges in both state and federal courts.
As a dedicated family law attorney, Adrienne has robustly advocated for her clients in complex divorce and parenting proceedings. Her expertise in this field led to multiple state court appointments as a Guardian Ad Litem and Parenting Coordinator.
Committed to public service, Adrienne also contracted with the Office of the Public Defender to represent parents and youths navigating abuse and neglect cases as well as representing individuals in criminal matters. Prior to joining Holloway & Hulling PLLC, Adrienne further served the local community as an Assistant City Attorney for Belgrade.
Adrienne truly enjoys living and practicing in Bozeman and its surrounding communities. As a lifelong Montanan, she loves the outdoors and everything the state has to offer. Adrienne spends her free time with her family and friends, husband, two children, and their two dogs skiing, hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and camping.

Aaron Rains is an Associate Attorney at Holloway and Hulling specializing in criminal defense.
Throughout his legal career, he has worked on both sides of the courtroom, serving as both a criminal defense attorney and a felony prosecutor.
He’s lived in Montana for more than 22 years and has strong ties to the Gallatin Valley having earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Montana State University. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana, where he served as publication editor on the public lands law review and graduated with pro bono honors.
Aaron brings an approachable, client-focused style to his practice, along with a commitment to providing practical guidance, clear and responsive communication, and fierce advocacy for clients throughout the Gallatin Valley and across Montana.
When not in the office or the courtroom, he can be found on the river or in the mountains, enjoying everything that makes Montana special.

Jodi Maddox, Legal Assistant and Bozeman Office Manager
Jodi Maddox began her career with Holloway & Hulling, PLLC as a receptionist in the firm’s Missoula office.
Through dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to client service, she advanced into her current role as Office Manager and Legal Assistant in the Bozeman office.
In her position, Jodi oversees the day-to-day operations that keep the firm running smoothly, supporting attorneys and clients while ensuring the office remains organized, efficient, and welcoming.
Her experience across multiple roles within the firm gives her a well-rounded understanding of workflow, case support, and administrative needs.
Outside of work, Jodi enjoys spending time outdoors — especially fly fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, and painting.
These activities reflect her appreciation for Montana’s landscape and her creative spirit.

Michelle Byrnes, Legal Assistant and Missoula Office Manager
Michelle Byrnes, a proud Montana native, brings her unique journey and dedication to our legal team. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. She spent five years in the classroom: four as a first-grade teacher and one as a reading specialist. Her commitment to helping others and her passion for lifelong learning remain at the forefront, and they encouraged her to make a career change. Michelle decided to venture into the legal field when she joined Holloway & Hulling in 2023. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team. Beyond the office, you’ll find Michelle and her fox red lab, Remi, exploring the great outdoors of Montana. She also treasures time spent with her family and friends, especially watching her niece and nephew grow and thrive.

Sienna Ficco, Intern
Sienna Ficco is a sophomore at the University of Montana, where she is pursuing dual majors in Criminology and Psychology, with a minor in French, on the Pre-Law track. She has served as an intern with the firm for the past year, during which she has developed a strong foundation in legal research, case preparation, and client service. Through her experience, Sienna has gained meaningful insight into the legal profession and a deeper appreciation for it.
At the University of Montana, Sienna is actively involved in Army ROTC, where she continues to build leadership, discipline, and organizational skills. She is also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, engaging in community service and mentorship initiatives that align with her commitment to integrity and civic responsibility. In addition, she participates in several intramural athletic teams.
Beyond her academic and professional commitments, Sienna enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the natural beauty of Montana. Her favorite activities include camping, skiing, and rock climbing, pursuits that reflect her adventurous spirit and appreciation for challenge and growth.

Kaylie Hegel, Retired Paralegal
Kaylie grew up in Great Falls, Montana. After high school graduation, she moved to Missoula to attend the University of Montana. Kaylie has been a paralegal in our community for over 30 years. She is compassionate in helping clients resolve their personal injury matters. Kaylie has worked with several attorneys in Missoula and joined Holloway & Hulling in February 2024.
Kaylie enjoyed spending several years volunteering as an advocate in the CASA program in Missoula.
Outside of work, Kaylie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to see her children and grandchildren, and finding new adventures with her husband.
Kaylie retired on June 30, 2026. While she is no longer actively practicing, we are proud to recognize her years of service and the lasting impact she made on our firm and the clients she served.

Emily Rogers, Paralegal
With nearly ten years of experience in family law, Emily brings a steady, detail-driven approach to some of life’s most emotionally complex legal matters. She has extensive experience supporting cases involving dissolution of marriage, parenting plans, child support, custody disputes, and post-decree matters, and is known for her ability to keep cases organized, efficient, and moving forward.
Emily plays a key role in drafting pleadings, managing deadlines, coordinating filings, and serving as a consistent point of contact for clients navigating stressful transitions. She understands that family law is not just legal work—it’s deeply personal—and approaches each case with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Montana with her dogs, attending concerts, traveling, hiking, and taking full advantage of the balance and perspective that life in Montana offers.
