About Nathan Hulling
Nathan Hulling, an experienced trial attorney, was born in 1984 and is originally from Tennessee. He took up the call to serve his country when he joined the United States Marine Corps in 2009. From 2009 through 2012 Nathan was in the Marine Corps Reserves while he attended Law School at the University of Tennessee College of Law. After he graduated law school with honors in 2012, he began his active-duty career as a Marine. Nathan was a prosecutor and Judge Advocate from 2012 through 2017.
Nathan served as Officer in Charge (OIC) at Legal Team Delta, Camp Horno located at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. As OIC he supervised three other Judge Advocates Marines as well as multiple clerks. His team was responsible for prosecuting crimes committed by Marines and Sailors stationed at Camp Horno and Camp Pendleton. As a judge advocate and OIC of Legal Team Delta, Nathan prosecuted just about every type of crime including assaults, drug crimes, theft of government property, attempted murder, rape and sexual assault, and crimes against children. Nathan reached the rank of Major. He is thankful and proud of his time as an active-duty Marine. He feels that his time as a prosecutor and active duty Marine Officer, litigating some of the most intense and difficult cases imaginable has given him a unique perspective as a defense counsel and the ability to understand the prosecutor’s case and motivations when he now represents criminal clients as a defense attorney.
After completing his active-duty service in April of 2017, Nathan moved to Missoula, Montana and began practicing at a prestigious local firm that specialized in criminal law, family law, and personal injury. Nathan was the managing attorney for that firm from 2018-January of 2023, when the left to start his own practice. During that time Nathan gained valuable experience as a defense counsel and litigator. He successfully represented hundreds if not well over a thousand of clients and helped them achieve excellent results for their cases due to his dedicated commitment to providing them the best possible representation. Nathan has successfully appealed multiple cases to Montana’s District Courts and Supreme Court.
