About Us
In early 2023, Nate Holloway and Nathan Hulling partnered to found Holloway and Hulling PLLC, Montana Lawyers. Together they brought over 25 years of litigation experience in criminal defense, family law, real estate, and personal injury, along with a broad network in Missoula and its surrounding communities. Both are experienced litigators with high character values and a relentless work ethic, and their shared experience and values made starting a firm together an easy fit.
The firm has since grown to a team of attorneys and staff with more than 50 years of combined legal experience, serving clients from offices in Missoula and Bozeman. Holloway and Hulling represents Montanans in criminal defense, personal injury, and family law matters, with strong advocacy and compassion at the center of every case.

Adrienne Ellington is a Montana native, born and raised in Butte, America. Adrienne’s family moved to Great Falls where she attended high school. She brings deep local roots and a compassionate, solution-oriented approach to her clients across the Gallatin Valley.
Before practicing as an attorney, Adrienne dedicated over 15 years to the legal field. This extensive background in family law, criminal law, and public service gives her a unique, well-rounded perspective on the legal system. Adrienne takes pride in guiding clients through complex, emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
Adrienne earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law after completing undergraduate degrees at Boise State University and the University of Phoenix. Following law school, she launched her legal career as a solo practitioner at the Law Office of Adrienne Ellington. In this role, she primarily handled criminal defense matters ranging from minor traffic violations to serious felony charges in both state and federal courts.
As a dedicated family law attorney, Adrienne has robustly advocated for her clients in complex divorce and parenting proceedings. Her expertise in this field led to multiple state court appointments as a Guardian Ad Litem and Parenting Coordinator.
Committed to public service, Adrienne also contracted with the Office of the Public Defender to represent parents and youths navigating abuse and neglect cases as well as representing individuals in criminal matters. Prior to joining Holloway & Hulling PLLC, Adrienne further served the local community as an Assistant City Attorney for Belgrade.
Adrienne truly enjoys living and practicing in Bozeman and its surrounding communities. As a lifelong Montanan, she loves the outdoors and everything the state has to offer. Adrienne spends her free time with her family and friends, husband, two children, and their two dogs skiing, hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and camping.

Aaron Rains is an Associate Attorney at Holloway and Hulling specializing in criminal defense.
Throughout his legal career, he has worked on both sides of the courtroom, serving as both a criminal defense attorney and a felony prosecutor.
He’s lived in Montana for more than 22 years and has strong ties to the Gallatin Valley having earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Montana State University. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana, where he served as publication editor on the public lands law review and graduated with pro bono honors.
Aaron brings an approachable, client-focused style to his practice, along with a commitment to providing practical guidance, clear and responsive communication, and fierce advocacy for clients throughout the Gallatin Valley and across Montana.
When not in the office or the courtroom, he can be found on the river or in the mountains, enjoying everything that makes Montana special.
Jodi Maddox, Legal Assistant and Bozeman Office Manager
Jodi Maddox began her career with Holloway & Hulling, PLLC as a receptionist in the firm’s Missoula office.
Through dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to client service, she advanced into her current role as Office Manager and Legal Assistant in the Bozeman office.
In her position, Jodi oversees the day-to-day operations that keep the firm running smoothly, supporting attorneys and clients while ensuring the office remains organized, efficient, and welcoming.
Her experience across multiple roles within the firm gives her a well-rounded understanding of workflow, case support, and administrative needs.
Outside of work, Jodi enjoys spending time outdoors — especially fly fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, and painting.
These activities reflect her appreciation for Montana’s landscape and her creative spirit.
Michelle Byrnes, Legal Assistant and Missoula Office Manager
Michelle Byrnes serves as Office Manager and as a Criminal Legal Assistant for Holloway & Hulling. A Montana Native and University of Montana graduate, Michelle began her professional career in education, spending five years in the classroom as a first-grade teacher and reading specialist.
In 2023, Michelle made the decision to take her career in a new direction and joined Holloway & Hulling. She quickly immersed herself in the legal field and has continued to grow with the firm as it has expanded. Her role has evolved alongside the firm, giving her experience working closely with attorneys, support staff, clients, and the many moving parts of a growing law practice.
As Office Manager, Michelle helps oversee the firm’s administrative needs while also providing legal and case support. She plays a central role in keeping systems,
communication, and workflows moving forward and is often the person behind the scenes making sure details are handled and the team has what it needs to serve clients effectively.
Michelle enjoys the variety of her role and the opportunity to continue learning, taking on new challenges, and contribute to the continued growth of Holloway & Hulling. Outside of the office, Michelle enjoys taking advantage of all that Montana has to offer with her husband and dog, spending time with her family and friends, and cooking.
Sienna Ficco, Intern
Sienna Ficco is a student at the University of Montana, pursuing dual Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Psychology, with minors in Military Science and French. She is also on the pre-law track, driven by a strong interest in the legal profession and a desire to build a career centered on advocacy, problem-solving, and service.
Sienna has been an intern with Holloway & Hulling since 2024, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight into the practice of law. Her time with the firm has strengthened her appreciation for the legal profession while developing her skills in professionalism, communication, and attention to detail.
Sienna also serves as Platoon Sergeant for the University of Montana’s ROTC program, where she demonstrates leadership, discipline, organization, and a commitment to teamwork and accountability. This experience has strengthened her ability to lead by example and approach challenges with confidence and purpose.
Outside of academics, work, and ROTC, Sienna enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and backpacking. She loves exploring Montana’s outdoors and embracing the challenges and adventures that come with it.
Kaylie Hegel, Retired Paralegal
Kaylie grew up in Great Falls, Montana. After high school graduation, she moved to Missoula to attend the University of Montana. Kaylie has been a paralegal in our community for over 30 years. She is compassionate in helping clients resolve their personal injury matters. Kaylie has worked with several attorneys in Missoula and joined Holloway & Hulling in February 2024.
Kaylie enjoyed spending several years volunteering as an advocate in the CASA program in Missoula.
Outside of work, Kaylie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to see her children and grandchildren, and finding new adventures with her husband.
Kaylie retired on June 30, 2026. While she is no longer actively practicing, we are proud to recognize her years of service and the lasting impact she made on our firm and the clients she served.
Emily Rogers, Paralegal
With nearly ten years of experience in family law, Emily brings a steady, detail-driven approach to some of life’s most emotionally complex legal matters. She has extensive experience supporting cases involving dissolution of marriage, parenting plans, child support, custody disputes, and post-decree matters, and is known for her ability to keep cases organized, efficient, and moving forward.
Emily plays a key role in drafting pleadings, managing deadlines, coordinating filings, and serving as a consistent point of contact for clients navigating stressful transitions. She understands that family law is not just legal work—it’s deeply personal—and approaches each case with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Montana with her dogs, attending concerts, traveling, hiking, and taking full advantage of the balance and perspective that life in Montana offers.
Kylie Hanson, Criminal Legal Assistant
Kylie has been a member of the H&H team since November 2025 and has two years of experience working in criminal defense. She earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Montana, where she majored in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology.
While at the University of Montana, Kylie was an active member of the Alpha Phi sorority, where she developed strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Originally from Helena, Montana, she brings a deep appreciation for her community and a commitment to advocating for clients with diligence and compassion.
Outside of work, Kylie enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Kiala Hirsch, Legal Assistant
Originally from Miles City, Kiala is a recent graduate from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology and Criminology. In school, Kiala was a member of the Associated Students of Montana State University Senate, a Legal Intern at the Legal Services office, a Research Assistant, a Teacher’s Assistant, and a longtime volunteer for the Kiwanis Family Organization.
Now, Kiala is excited to enter the legal field. At Holloway & Hulling, Kiala is building skills in client service, case preparation, and legal drafting. Kiala is involved in the Criminal Defense and Family Law departments.
Outside of work, Kiala enjoys traveling, visiting family all over the state, seeing live music, camping, hiking, and skiing.
Jalyn Lundy, Legal Assistant
Jalyn Lundy is a proud Montana native, born and raised in Great Falls. She is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice Administration through Park University. Her interest in psychology, the legal system, and helping others led her to pursue a career in the legal field and join the team at Holloway & Hulling.
Prior to entering the legal field, Jalyn spent several years working in the financial industry, where she developed a passion for building relationships and helping others. Her experience strengthened her communication skills and taught her the importance of approaching each situation with patience and care. Jalyn looks forward to bringing those qualities to her role while continuing to grow within the legal profession.
Outside of work, Jalyn enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends and family. She is happiest when surrounded by those closest to her, including her two corgis, Tilly and Finn, and her black lab, Beau. No matter what she is doing, Jalyn values making memories with the people (and pups) she loves most.
Damien Smith, Personal Injury Legal Assistant
Damien Smith is a Montana local, and a dedicated member of our support staff at Holloway & Hulling. He joined the firm in early 2026, where he supports our Personal Injury department, led by attorney Kathryn Delans. Damien brings with him extensive experience in client service, as well as valuable knowledge of the Montana court system. Damien prides himself in his ability to manage cases with many moving parts, as well as communicating clearly and effectively with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs; Chloe and Paul. Though an admitted home-body, Damien enjoys going to watch Griz football games with his Grandfather, Ken. Family and community are Damien’s biggest priorities in life, and he is grateful to have an opportunity to assist his neighbors through the most difficult times of their lives.
