Washoe, MT (June 24, 2024) – An 81-year-old Bearcreek man died in a car crash on Highway 308, and a 72-year-old Belfry man was injured in the incident, which took place in Carbon County on Friday, June 21.
Montana Highway Patrol reports the 81-year-old Belfry man was entering Highway 308, heading northwest to Red Lodge in a Honda Pilot, when the crash occurred with the 72-year-old driver, who was traveling in a Ford Escape and heading southbound on the roadway. The first driver was severely injured and later pronounced dead at Red Lodge Hospital. The other motorist also sustained major injuries and was transferred to Billings Clinic. However, no information is currently available regarding the suspected cause of the accident. In the interim, an investigation is still ongoing.
