Polson, MT - Fuel Tanker Collision, Injuries Close Hwy 93 at Melita Island Rd

Deer Lodge County, MT (October 28, 2024) – Per local authorities, a 54-year-old man from Butte died on Sunday, October 27, in a vehicle crash in Deer Lodge County.

The crash happened at about 4:40 p.m. along Montana Highway 569, near mile marker 1. Troopers with the Montana Highway Patrol say the apparent rollover crash took place on the northbound side of the highway.

One of the drivers, a man in a Subaru Legacy, was taken to Community Hospital in Anaconda, where he was declared dead. However, it’s unclear if anybody else was hurt in the accident.
