Helena, MT – Driver Charged in Injury-Causing Crash on I-15

Helena, MT (October 24, 2024) – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) reported that officers released new information about a crash involving a Montana Highway Patrol car on I-15 that took place on Thursday.

According to officials at the scene, a 40-year-old man is facing criminal charges for the crash. Jeremiah Twiford was charged with two counts of felony criminal endangerment and one misdemeanor. Per court documents, a semi-truck driver said Twiford swerved in front of him, forcing him off the road. Then, Twiford crashed into an MHP patrol car parked perpendicular in the median of I-15.

Though EMTs responded and assessed both persons for injuries, the nature and extent of the victims’ injuries are not yet known. The Montana Highway Patrol and the MDT are continuing to investigate, and witnesses were asked to contact troopers right away.
